Student Program


Student Industry Faculty Luncheon - Keynote Announced!

The keynote address will be given by Donald Niss who serves as the deputy coordinator for President Barack Obama’s Power Africa and Trade Africa Initiative. Based at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, D.C., Mr. Niss oversees efforts based out of Washington for this initiative designed to increase electricity access for over six hundred million Sub Saharan Africans. As Power Africa and Trade Africa’s deputy coordinator, Mr. Niss has played a leading role in marshaling the technological and financial expertise and resources from all of the U.S. Government as well as American private sector partners to meet the objectives associated with this initiative.

Tutorials

Tutorials offered at the General Meeting cover a range of topics.

- Three half-day tutorials. These include a variety of tutorials covering Microgrids, Electric Vehicle Charging in Distribution, and Smart Grid Data and Analytics.

- Nine full day tutorials encompassing a wide range of topics including Power Quality, Energy Forecasting, Voltage Sourced Converters, Enhancing Smart Grid Benefits, Smart Substations, Synchrophasor Systems, Distribution Overcurrent, Smart Distribution Systems, Middleware/ Cloud Computing/ Distributed Computing.

Tutorials are part of the General Meeting. An additional registration fee is required in addition to the conference fee.
