Student Program

On Wednesday, August 8th from 11:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., employers are urged to support the student program by sponsoring a table at the luncheon and by participating in the student job fair.

The IEEE PES 2018 General Meeting organizing committee and the student activities subcommittee of IEEE PES Power and Energy Education Committee are happy to announce that there will be both a Student Support Program and a Student Poster Contest at the PES General Meeting 2018 in Portland, OR, USA, August 5-9, 2018. The website for student housing application and poster abstract submissions will be available shortly.

Please note that the deadline for all student housing application and faculty/supervisor recommendations and the poster abstract submission is April 20, 2018, 5:00 PM EST, USA.

Please note that conference registration to the 2018 PES GM is required for student housing applications and submission of poster abstracts.

Volunteers Needed

Over 200 volunteers are needed to perform a wide range of roles, including welcoming, directing people, assisting with sessions and coordinating. Volunteer shifts are in blocks with a minimum of 4 hours, and volunteers will earn an hour of meeting attendance, excluding paid events such as the tutorials, dinners or receptions, for every hour of volunteer time. Lunch or dinner will be provided for volunteers taking two shifts back to back. Learn more.
