Michael Lamb is Senior Vice President, Transmission where he is responsible for all aspects of Xcel Energy’s transmission system including lines and substations across 10 states. He also serves as President, of Xcel Energy Transco which is engaged in competitive transmission growth opportunities. Michael has worked for Xcel Energy since 1985 and was previously the Vice President ETO & Operating Services where he led the corporate-wide SAP deployment and started the XE1 effort. Prior to that, he was the Assistant CIO and has extensive experience in electric distribution, gas, and energy supply.

Michael serves on several non-profit Boards including the Midwest Reliability Organization, AEIC (Association of Edison Illuminating Companies), the EPRI Transmission Sector Council, JDRF Minnesota, and the Minnesota Independent School Forum.

Michael earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, holds both a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Minnesota, and is a graduate of the Minnesota Executive Program at the Carlson School of Management.
